Configuration limitation

The API has several limits in its configuration.

Search Configuration

This API allows you to configure your search engine to deliver the right experience to your visitors.

The limitations regarding our configuration are

For the total number of configurations you can have, we need to have at least one configuration enabled for your search to work, and you are allowed to create a maximum of 50 configurations.

When creating a new configuration, we have the following limitations on the fields

The name field is limited to a minimum length of 2 characters and a maximum length of 50 characters. The description field is limited to a length of 2 characters and 255 characters.

Search Attributes

The search attribute service will allow you to configure which attributes will be used to perform searches.

The limitations regarding our search attribute configuration are

We need at least one search attribute selected, and the maximum number of attributes that can be used in the search is 50.

When selecting a new attribute

When you add a new attribute element to the configuration, we make sure that the attribute's name is at least 1 character in length and a maximum total of 50 characters.

Sortable Attributes

Define which attributes will be available for the users to sort the results.

The limitations regarding the sortable attributes

You are allowed to have up to 50 sortable attributes defined per configuration.

When selecting a new sortable attribute

When you add a new sortable attribute to the configuration, we make sure that the attribute's name is at least 1 character in length and a maximum total of 50 characters.

Search Synonyms

We allow you to improve your search results by defining synonyms.

The limitations regarding the search synonyms

You are allowed to have up to 500 synonyms defined per configuration.

When creating a new synonym configuration

When you add a new synonym to your configuration, we will check the following fields:

• The reference name must be at least two characters and a maximum of 50 characters.

• You will be able to add multiple terms that will be matched using the selected rule. You will need to have at least one term and not more than 20 terms in a group.

• Each term inside the group needs to be at least two characters and a maximum of 50 characters.

Search Redirects

A search redirect will allow you to send your visitors to a specific location on your website based on their search terms.

The limitations regarding the search redirects

You are allowed to have up to 100 search redirects in each configuration.

When creating a new search redirect

When you add a new search redirect to your configuration, we will check the following fields:

• The name of the redirect needs to be at least two characters and no more than 50 characters.

• The URL needs to be at least a length of 10 characters and no more than 2048 characters.

• A trigger word that will activate your redirect.

  • You will be able to configure up to 50 trigger words, and you will always be required to have at least one.

  • The keyword for activating the redirect needs to be at least two characters and no more than ten characters.

Facets

Facets will allow you to set customer visible product metadata to refine search and filter categories of products.

You are allowed to create up to 100 facets per configuration.

When creating a new facet

When you add a new facet to your configuration, we will check the following fields:

• The facet id needs to be at least two characters and no more than 50 characters.

• The facet title needs to be at least two characters and no more than 50 characters.

Rules

Rules allow you to configure specific behavior to your search responses. They trigger when your defined keyword is in the search query, and they will enable you to control the results by filtering, boosting, and burying products.

The limitations regarding the rules

You are allowed to create up to 500 rules per configuration.

When creating a new rule

When you add a new rule to your configuration, we will check the following fields:

• Name of the rule needs to be at most 50 characters in length.

• Boost and Bury elements

  • You can have up to 50 tags

  • You can have up to 50 items

  • You can have up to 50 boost
